TERMS AND CONDITIONS

 

GENERAL

·        Initial consultation will last for one and a half hours maximum, is free of charge and will be held in your home on a no-obligation basis. This covers a maximum of 3 rooms. Re-visits to discuss options for the same project will be chargeable at £25.00 per hour or part thereof.

·        A written estimate for our services will be provided after the initial consultation. If you wish to proceed further, then a more detailed and accurate quotation will be provided if necessary or required. By placing an order and paying a deposit means that you accept the quotation and our terms & conditions.

·        A non-returnable deposit (specified in the estimate but usually between 50% and 70%) will be required with the order confirmation. JULIE SINCLAIR INTERIORS will proceed with the service requested only after the deposit has been received.

·        Payments to JULIE SINCLAIR INTERIORS can be made by cheque or bank transfer. All cheques should be made payable to JULIE SINCLAIR.

·        All quotes will be valid for 3 months from the date of issue unless otherwise agreed.

ORDER

·        If you wish to proceed with an estimate, an assessment of the interior/window will be necessary and includes careful measurements by me or one of our independent 3rd party fitters and is required for the work to proceed. Whilst our measuring appointment is free, the fitter may charge an initial measuring fee and will quote a charge for his work to me at the time of measuring. which will be included on the quote. It is important that you please ensure that the areas to be assessed are completely clear of items or that may prevent these measurements being taken (i.e., decorative items on windowsills or furniture preventing the safe and correct use of ladders). We and the 3rd party fitters we instruct are fully insured to work in your home. If you provide measurements yourself, then all items subsequently made will be done so in accordance with those measurements. JULIE SINCLAIR INTERIORS will take no responsibility for any mistakes arising from inaccurate measuring by you. Any such errors may be rectified; however, any costs incurred by us as a result will be added to your order confirmation.

·        The order confirmation will usually indicate estimated delivery times (subject to receipt/clearance of deposit and/or availability of materials). Acceptance of the order confirmation is also acceptance of the estimated delivery time scale. If the delivery time scale is not acceptable to you then you should not accept the order confirmation. JULIE SINCLAIR INTERIORS will always endeavour to quote reasonable time scales to suit you.

·        JULIE SINCLAIR INTERIORS cannot be held responsible for any materials going out of stock between order confirmation and materials being purchased. You will be notified of any delay that will extend the estimated delivery time unduly. If the delay is not acceptable to you and alternative materials cannot be sought, your deposit will be refunded.

·        JULIE SINCLAIR INTERIORS reserves the right to cancel any order at any time and any payments made in relation to the order will be refunded. JULIE SINCLAIR INTERIORS will not be liable for any costs arising from a cancellation.

·        You will be notified when the items are complete, and this will be deemed as the COMPLETION DATE. Finished goods will be available for collection from our workshop if no fitting is required and any balance remaining will be required prior to collection. If fitting or delivery has been agreed then a time will be arranged between you and us or you and the fitter, usually within fourteen days of the completion date. Any outstanding balance will become due and must be paid in full either prior to or upon delivery/fitting. Please inspect the goods straight away. Any problems you may find with the goods or queries you may have in relation to them must be reported within 24 hours of collection or fitting. After this time, you will be deemed to have accepted the goods. Any problems or queries that are reported within 24 hours will be dealt with by JULIE SINCLAIR INTERIORS as soon as possible. Ownership of the goods will remain the property of JULIE SINCLAIR INTERIORS until paid for in full.

FABRICS & CARE

·        Where you supply your own fabric JULIE SINCLAIR INTERIORS will not be responsible for flaws, creases, marks, faults, inconsistency of pattern or incorrect quantities.  A 20% surcharge will be added to make up costs if the fabrics are not supplied by us. JULIE SINCLAIR INTERIORS reserves the right to refuse to work with any fabric deemed unsuitable for your project.

·        All fabrics whether supplied by you or us should be handled with care. Advice for their suitability for washing / dry cleaning can be sought from the fabric supplier or us (only when we supply the fabric). When a combination of fabrics has been used i.e., blackout lining on a linen curtain or trimmings that are applied, rates of shrinkage between fabrics may differ which may cause misshaping. JULIE SINCLAIR INTERIORS suggests that ALL fabrics be treated as dry clean only unless otherwise stated, however it can take no responsibility for any damage as a result of dry cleaning, or any other cleaning method used in the correct or incorrect manner. In cases where interlining has been used, dry cleaning may not be possible, so it is recommended that cleaning is by gentle vacuuming only.

·        JULIE SINCLAIR INTERIORS will endeavour to match the correct fabric with the customer’s requirements and assess its suitability for the environment in which it will be placed. JULIE SINCLAIR INTERIORS can take no responsibility for fabric behaviour once in its intended location. Any shrinkage due to high humidity, improper cleaning, proximity of heating equipment, or damage or misshaping arising from mishandling or other improper use will not be the fault of JULIE SINCLAIR INTERIORS.

FIXTURES AND FITTINGS FOR WINDOW TREATMENTS

·        JULIE SINCLAIR INTERIORS can advise on and/or supply fixtures and fittings but will take no responsibility for any damage to those fixtures or fittings or to your property during or after the fitting of same if performed by you or your representative. Blinds and tracks with loop bead chains or cords will be supplied with child safe compliant devices. We and/or our appointed fitters are required by law to fit these child safety devices. Should you not require the child safety devices we regret that we will not be able to proceed with the fitting of the relevant blind/track. If performing fitting yourself or via your own representative, we strongly advise you to fit all supplied child safety devices. JULIE SINCLAIR INTERIORS will not be responsible for any injury or death resulting from a track or pole being fitted without a safety device if fitted by you or your representative.

·        In the event, that you wish to relocate the position of fixtures and fittings or make alterations to floors, windows, architraves, covings etc that may alter the measurements taken, you must inform us straight away so that we can endeavour to alter any goods being made according to those measurements. If any changes in measurements result in undue extra work, then this will become chargeable to you. You will be advised of any extra charges prior to proceeding with any rectification. Where you provide the changed measurements, then all items subsequently made will be done so in accordance with those measurements. JULIE SINCLAIR INTERIORS will take no responsibility for any mistakes arising from inaccurate or incorrect measuring by you.

·        JULIE SINCLAIR INTERIORS uses third party independent curtain fitters that we instruct to perform the fitting of curtain/blind fitments and the final dressing of your window treatments. If appointed you may either form your own relationship with any third party, be responsible for managing these relationships, and be responsible for financial settlements directly with the third party or we can make the fitting arrangements on your behalf for a small administration fee which will be added to your final invoice.
